Field Day 6-18-14
What an amazing day the members of The Tierney Team had. We hula hooped, jump roped, limboed, played asteroid tag, had fun with parachutes, blew bubbles and got sopping wet! Just when things couldn't have gotten any better, they did! We got popsicles!!! What a great day!

Marty Kelley, local author and illustrator, has joined us to share his expertise with writing and illustrating. Thank you to the PTO for sponsoring this wonderful opportunity for all third graders!
Ellis Island Day, April 17, 1900! We had so much fun learning what life for an immigrant was like when they had to pass all the tests at Ellis Island back in the early 1900s.
Love playing checkers to learn our five multiplication facts!
It's "Wacky Wednesday" buddy reading time!
The Cat in the Hat came to visit!
Our Autumn Adventure Day hike was fantastic! We hiked along the path behind the school collecting pieces of our trail mix along the way. The children loved running up and down the "sand hill". They all had sand in their shoes, but didn't seem to mind. The hike ended with a picnic at the Heron Pond sign. Thank you to all the parents who donated food items and their time to make our day extra special!
Halloween Fun!
Pumpkin science was so much fun. The children broke up into teams to conduct science experiments on their pumpkin. They had to weigh the pumpkin, see if it would sink or float, calculate the diameter and count the number of seeds. Some of the pumpkins had over 600 seeds! I took the seeds home and baked them for a special snack we all enjoyed the next day.
After pumpkin science, the children got into their Halloween costumes for our party.

First day of school, and new friends!
