Outdoor classroom on this beautiful day! We decided to bring our opinion writing outside to the Butterfly Garden today to enjoy the sunshine and friendships developed this year!
Great friends + lots of sunshine + beautiful wooded trails + fabulous parent volunteers = one super special field trip hiking the Tucker Brook Trails!
STEAM challenge: Make a bed that will hold the weight of Goldilocks, she weighs 2 grams. But wait, the 3 bears have come home! Will it hold their weight too? Papa Bear weighs 40 grams! Check out the children's thoughtful designs below.
Good books + good friends = pure joy! Our pajama ~ read-a-thon day was so much fun. Our favorite stuffies heard some wonderful stories and met our the friends we have told them so much about. What a great day!
Ellis Island Day was amazing! The immigrants were excited to be in America after their long voyage on the S. S. Tierney. Some had to go to special inquiry or were deported, but in the end, all immigrants made it into America. I am sure this day will be one they will remember fondly for the rest of their days. A great big THANK YOU to all the families that supported the progression of knowledge for this unit. We could never have done it without you!
Our Heirloom Shares are teaching us so much about each other's families, histories and cultures. The children and I are learning a lot, not only about each other, but what it means to be a good listener and how to present important information to an audience.
Happy Halloween!
Fun with character traits!
Our first STEAM challenge of the year. The children had to save Sammy the worm. His boat capsized and he found himself on top of the boat while his life jacket was under the boat. They had to get the life jacket onto Sammy without touching the boat, Sammy or the life jacket. The only thing they had to use was each other and two paper clips. Ask them how they succeeded in saving him.
Opening Ceremonies 2018. Our school is a very fine school, our school!
